It's been over 70 years since my dad, Jim, and my Uncle Harry first opened a pork butchers farm shop in Ewell, Surrey and started selling their own sausages made from an old family recipe.
That's me with my dad in the picture, next to my Uncle Harry and my sister Rebecca. I was already a dab hand at making sausages!
Today, Porky Whites is still an independent, family-run business. My daughter, Alix, has followed in my footsteps and Chris, our Managing Director, is very much an honorary 'White'.
As for our sausages, well, they're every bit as good as when dad used to make them. We've done a bit of tinkering and perfecting over the years, but the delicious, meaty, home-made taste still takes me back to when I was a child.
