Over the years, our Dad, Graham White, has had many gifts and surprises for Father’s Day, and this year – after wracking my brain – I thought that actually, the biggest gift we can give him is the gift of spending time with him. So I’ve planned a big family get together round at Dad’s and what’s better, it falls on the longest day of the year – so here’s a few ideas from sunrise until sunset. You know your Dad, pick out the best for him…
Breakfast fit for a King
You could serve your Dad our classic Surreys, cooked to perfection alongside bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. Daddies Sauce? Mustard? Serve with some doorstop slices of fresh bread and butter and serve with a big mug of builder’s tea.
Big Daddy BBQ
You could go Porky Dogs, Porky Flats, Porky sausage rings…. Or just go the good ol’ Porky Whites! This is going to be my Dad’s treat this year. He loves pottering around in the garden, so we’ll fire up the BBQ and serve him up Porky White Surreys with brown sauce (his long standing favourite). We’ll spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and getting up to our usual White family mayhem!
The Big Meaty Treat
Finally, even though it’s Summer – we couldn’t resist throwing in bangers and mash – always a firm favourite in the Dad camp. So what if it’s hot? So what if it’s still daylight outside? Just serve up a meal that will go down in history! Dad loves this too, but I’d say he’ll still be full from his lunch!
So, as the sun finally sets, we should all have one full and super content Dad! We’d like to wish all the lovely Dads out there a super Father’s Day – we hope you get as spoilt on the day as our Dad is going to be!

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Extended families, work families, single-parent families, you’re-like-family-to-me families. But whatever the family group, the focal point is always the humble dining table.
