Pork (or Chicken) Smash Patties

All the fun and flavour of a burger night but Lighter! Made with our sausages for unbeatable flavour and low-fuss prep, these patties take minutes to make and cook, and are a low-cost alternative to beef to enjoy a Friday-night feeling any day of the week.

Method

1. Prepare the patties: Remove the sausage meat from the skins and place in a bowl. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Mix gently.
2. Form:
Divide the mixture into 8 portions. Roll each into a ball, then flatten firmly into thin patties.
3. Cook:
Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium–high heat. Fry the patties for 2–3 minutes each side until crisp and cooked through.
4. Assemble:
Load into buns or flatbreads with lettuce, tomato, pickles and a spoon of light mayo.

Make it even lighter

For an even lighter version, switch to PorkyWhites Premium Chicken or Porky Lights Sausages, serve the patties in lettuce wraps, or pair with a big Spring salad rather than buns.
