The whole of Porky Whites couldn’t be prouder for both Carla Quirk and Monica Ruja who have been CONFIRMED as 2025 Women in Meat Industry Awards Finalists!
This news follows last years Wholesaling award win for Porky Whites Managing Director, Francesca Wyatt who upon hearing news of the finalist nominations said;
"I'm hugely proud of both these women. Each and every day they bring their A-game to ensure that our teams and customers receive the very best support and service. Whatever the outcome at the November awards evening, I can honestly say that I couldn't do what I do without their energy and determination to succeed."
With 20+ years in food manufacturing, Monica’s unstoppable drive has transformed our factory operations. From fixing machinery to mentoring our future leaders (in a team that speaks 17 languages!), her passion for people and process is truly inspirational.
The beating heart of Porky Whites Wholesale, Carla’s the go-to for everything from orders to operations. Her unwavering dedication to suppliers, no matter how complex the request, fuels our business growth — and yes, she’s also Fran's sister!
On receiving the news Carla said;
“This really is a huge shock and I feel honoured to be a Women in Meat Finalist. Porky Whites has been part of my family’s life for over 90 years and I do what I do because I love our customers.”
The Women In Meat Industry Awards are designed to recognise the vitally important contributions that women make to the meat sector. This unique awards initiative is driven by reader nominations and votes, with an expert judging panel gathering to select the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year recipient (presented to one of the other category winners).
