Porky Whites brings the Plumpton Sausage to life!
Plumpton College is a specialist land- and environment-based further and higher education college located in the village of Plumpton, East Sussex near the South Downs National Park. Situated about 12miles from Brighton it specialises in land-based and environmental disciplines with a practical, industry-relevant educational focus.
The campus also includes Lambert Farm - a commercial working farm - which along with its associated lands supports a variety of enterprises including dairy, arable farming, pig, beef cattle and sheep. This facility provides a unique holistic understanding of agriculture and an opportunity to learn hands on best practice.
The Plumpton Sausage Brief
To create a new premium sausage brand for the Plumpton Estate to leverage and emphasise the local provenance and connection to the South Downs.
As a working commercial enterprise, Lambert Farm has a herd of pigs that is reared on site who are then delivered to slaughterhouses for use in a variety of pork products. Seeing an opportunity to reclaim this produce for use in their onsite catering facilities and selling direct to Plumpton College visitors, staff and students, the Plumpton leadership team engaged with Porky Whites to discuss a supply and manufacturing collaboration.

The result – Introducing the Plumpton Sausage
Designed in collaboration with Plumpton College, manufactured by Porky Whites and sold in One Garden, the Plumpton Estates Premium Pork Sausage is filled into natural casings these sausages are made from 100% British pork raised at the award winning Lambert Farm in the heart of the glorious Sussex South Downs. Run by Plumpton College, the farm is a place where animal welfare comes first and exceptional standards are part of everyday life. Honest, hearty, and full of flavour.
