Porky Whites at the Lady Mayor's Show

A Boars Head, the famous inflatable ‘Rib of Beef’, the Woods family vintage Butchers Van, butchers on bikes, others dressed as butchers and a man in a sausage costume!

It's not everyday you get to join a parade, but that's exactly what a contingent from Porky Whites (including Worshipful Company of Butchers Liveryman and MD of Porky Whites, Fran Wyatt) did as they joined Members of The Court for the Lady Mayor's Show.

About the Lady (Lord) Mayor's Show

The Lord Mayor’s Show is the oldest, longest, best loved and least-rehearsed civic procession in the world. It dates back to the early 13th century when King John granted that the City of London could appoint its own Mayor, but required that each newly-elected Mayor should travel upriver to distant Westminster and pledge his loyalty to the King.

The Mayors have made that journey for over 800 years and around it has grown the noise, colourful, joyous procession that over the centuries became known as the Lord Mayor’s Show, which this year will see over 7000 participants from all over the world in a procession more than three miles long!

Porky Whites Live on the BBC!

Every year the BBC televises London's big day out capturing all the atmosphere of the traditional parade that always brings fun and colour to the city's streets. This year's coverage was no different but did include an extra special inclusion for Porky Whites Managing Director Francesca Wyatt who was nominated by the Worshipful Company of Butchers to represent the Livery in an interview by the BBC’s Tina Daheley. As well as explaining the tradition and pageantry of the Show, Fran invited Tina to try live on air The Lady Mayor’s Sausage!

“It was an absolute honour to represent the Worshipful Company of Butchers and Porky Whites at the Lady Mayor’s Show - a day that celebrates London’s incredible history, diversity, and spirit. Launching The Lady Mayor’s Sausage in honour of Dame Susan Langley felt like the perfect way to mark such a special moment - a blend of tradition, warmth, and bold flavour that truly captures the heart of our capital.”
Francesca Wyatt, Managing Director, Porky Whites
"The Lady Mayor's Sausage was sensational and I need these on subscription and the rest of the BBC events team agreed!"
Tina Daheley, BBC News Presenter

Introducing the Lady Mayor’s Sausage!

Porky Whites is proud to introduce The Lady Mayor’s Sausage created in honour of London’s new Lady Mayor - Dame Susan Langley DBE - a woman known for her warmth, wit, and no-nonsense East End spirit. Dame Susan Langley DBE, will be only the third woman to hold the post in over 800 years, and the first ever to be titled the ‘Lady Mayor of London’!

This is a sausage that celebrates London itself: grounded in tradition, but bursting with global influence. At its heart is classic British pork - honest, hearty, and salt-of-the-earth, just like the Lady Mayor’s East End roots. Then comes a warm blend of cumin, coriander, garlic, and turmeric, echoing her wisdom, her compassion, and her open-minded outlook. Finally, a kick of chilli, ginger, and lemongrass brings the fire something that Dame Susan has shown through the determination and confidence that has carried her to the top.

Bold, bright, and beautifully balanced. It’s a sausage with substance and soul that's based on our recent UK Sausage Week winner for best cocktail sausage!
